What have I learned in my first Design project..

At first I thought this coarse will be just about designing a simple small product. But as the coarse was going forward I got to know its much more interesting than I thought.

Process is very important : Earlier before knowing anything about design process I never thought about the process and stages which are used before designing any product. But now after understanding the real process behind designing the product I feel like I know so little about everything around me.. In this coarse the very important thing which I have learned is to be curious about things around me ..To ask questions ..To try to find why and how things work the way it works.. To read more.. To be more aware of the world around me..

Research : Research was the process I always disliked and avoided at first. I don’t have habit of reading , which is the reason I use to stay away from researching and writing essays.

During this coarse research was the only way to go forward with the process of designing and it helped me to understand the importance of research and fact-finding which I was lacking before.

Terminology : I didn’t even knew this word before kuntal (our faculty)once said to get the terminology right.. That's when I realized how weak my vocabulary is XD.. Writing this blogs has helped me a lot in realizing how much I have to improve my language and writing skills.. Frankly I never thought I can write so much about anything. The way this lockdown forced us to write everything on our blog.. It gave me confidence to do more.. And as a result I have started liking this process and reading and writing more..

Coming to the coarse work some important thing which I learned from my mistakes during this coarse are..

Be open to all solution: To be open to all solutions and the problems as well. You should not stick to a specific solution without exploring other options.. being open to solution allows us to find a new direction towards solution. But sticking to the same idea which you had without searching for other options will not let you find a new and creative way to solve the problem.. While designing product its always better to not have any solution in mind at first. The process will lead us to the solution.

Complete what you have started: No matter how many times you think you are stuck at a point and feeling every thing you have done till now is useless…never quit on the idea…complete what you have started. Don’t change the direction in between without working on it first. Working on this project helped me to realize this important lesson..

Thinking in all direction: Every product has its own system around it. Not a single product exist without affecting other product or system. So we have to think in all direction while designing a solution.
